Back home

I'm back home from Fosdem, which really rocked this year! Met lots of cool people and went to some good talks, with the highlights being Robert's and Keith's talks. And Maddog's stories are always fun to hear, of course. The trip home went fine except that my luggage decided to go somewhere else. Hopefullly it'll turn up soon.

It was great seeing everyone and now I really look forward to going to GUADEC this summer! See you all there :)

Life (or lack of thereof)

I've had better days. This morning, I lost a chipset fan and 512Mb of memory, and now I think I'm about to catch a bad cold.

On the bright side, I didn't fall into a small marsh so I'm actually pretty happy after all ;)

Rain rain rain

Jamboree
Now that GStreamer 0.7.4 has been released, I wanted to release Jamboree, which is my late night fun hacking music player project. Last night wasn't all that fun though, as I ran into one problem after another. It started with having to read the GnomeProgram source (eek), then onto a few automake (eek eek) 1.8 issues, ending with gst not installing a pc file that I need (eek eek eek).

Nevertheless, I managed to roll a tarball. Enjoy! :)

Rain
The weather has been horrible for the last few days. I like to take walks, but it's not as fun when you're soaking wet at the time you get back. The rain is pouring down so maybe I should dig out my rain coat from the closet. At least I won't be needing fuzzy pants like some gnome hackers do ;)

Nostalgia

Good old (green?) times
Anders got me in nostalgia mode when he showed me an old screenshot of Oregano. Oregano was my first GTK+ app, or rather my first app at all. I remember taking lots of walks thinking about how code this and that :) It seems like I really liked the color green.

Gossip
Our Gossip plans are progressing nicely, Micke is hacking away at the protocol parts for 0.8, and I've been fixing bugs and preparing for a 0.7.2 release. I also added an experimental dbus interface to allow for some fun late night hacks.

Snow
It seems like tomorrow will be very white. It has been snowing more or less all day and it's still going. I'm sure it will melt away pretty soon, we get a lot of rain in Gothenburg. I should enjoy the snow while I can ;)
